American Latino Museum

¡Feliz Año Nuevo!

As we kick off 2023, we wanted to share our gratitude for the steps made towards helping secure a location for the future National Museum of the American Latino. While we did not end the year with the win we needed on Capitol Hill, 2022 was an excellent year for Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino (FRIENDS) and all of our allies to promote and advocate in support of the future museum.

In 2022, FRIENDS led the #BuildItOnTheNationalMall campaign, hosted and participated in various events across the country, teamed up with amazing sponsors and organizations, and spread the word far and wide about the importance of choosing a location for our museum on the National Mall—where it belongs.

With 2022 behind us, we invite you to take a look at the work we could have only done with your support...

Monumental Progress for our Latino Museum

On October 27, 2022, the Smithsonian Institution announced the two optimal locations for the National Museum of the American Latino and the Women’s History Museum ON THE NATIONAL MALL! We’re grateful to the Smithsonian for working diligently to find the best location for our museum. We continue working with them to ensure Congress passes the legislation necessary to build the National Museum of the American Latino on the National Mall.
